Charlesworth, near Glossop

February's coach ramble was from Charlesworth, near Glossop.  Peter Wilson led a party of 28 on a 7 mile ramble to Broadbottom and along the River Etherow and up to Botham's Hall and onto Cown Edge Way.  There was still quite a lot of snow left from the previous weekend but they enjoyed lunch on Cown Edge before reaching Coombes Edge and down The Banks and back to Charlesworth.

Frank Atherton led the short walk with 17 via Gamesley Fold Farm and through some muddy areas to have lunch at Lymefield Visitor and Garden centre.  They passed through the site of the former Broad Mills and over the river to walk above Warhurst Fold and down to Woodseats and the lane back to the pub.  They all enjoyed the walk although they had to search for some of the stiles and met some very friendly ponies and a barking rottweiller, which they chose to avoid.  Thanks to John's GPS they found their way back just in time to reach the bar before the rest of the Wigan Group.
