Nantwich, Cheshire.

September's coach ramble from Nantwich was on a beautiful late Summer day.  Both groups set off from the bus station on part of the Crewe and Nantwich circle.  Peter Wilson led the longer walk of about 8 miles with a party of 22.  Frank Atherton led a party of 16 on a 5 mile walk through Nantwich riverside park and past Nantwich Lake to reach the village of Acton for lunchtime in the church yard.  A lady opened the church of St. Mary's, an interesting Saxon Church.  She showed us the kneelers, which had been created for the Millennium.

Back in Nantwich we were able to enjoy the Nantwich Food and Drink festival.  This lovely old town was very busy with many stalls and free samples.  We were lucky to visit it on such a fine day and wished we had had more time.
