Sandbach, Cheshire

The "Flaming June" coach ramble from Sandbach proved to be a very damp affair as the rain persisted all day.

The forecast thunder storms never arrived but we all got very wet.  Peter Wilson led 20 on a "slog" of 9.2 miles through some wet fields (described as walking through a car wash!).  They also crossed a few cattle fields before returning to Sandbach to find Wetherspoons.  Frank Atherton led a 5 mile walk where 16 members crossed muddy  fields before facing a herd of very large cows.  They decided to turn back and follow the road and the canal towpath to the Wheelock disused railway and back into Sandbach.  Hopefully July's trip to Keswick will be on a sunny day.
