Wray, near Hornby

The Coach Ramble to Wray, near Hornby took place on a warm and sunny day but with very heavy, muddy conditions underfoot.  On the recce in Roeburndale Peter and co. tried to negotiate a bog and because of path closures they had to investigate alternative routes.  They eventually arrived home at 7 pm. Peter said it was the worst recce he had ever done.

On the day Peter led 10 eager ramblers on the more muddy route, whilst Phil took a party of 15 via the road, to meet Peter later.  They again had difficulties and were salvaged by Geoff Stanley’s GPS system!  They got back to the coach by 4pm but missed out on a visit to the pub.  Frank led a group of 15 on a shorter but very muddy walk.

Carl and his carer did not appreciate all the mud. but we enjoyed lunch by the River Roeburn and the views across towards Ingleborough.
