Llanberis 2014

Saturday Walk from Nant Peris.

Our walk started at Nant Peris car park.  The group of four ascended the steep slope of Elidir Fawr, otherwise known as the Electric Mountain.

Very soon the car park seemed a small dot in the distance.  The top of the mountain was a boulder field and the path was difficult find.

However, at the top we found a susbtantial windbreaker for us to have lunch and met the first person since leaving the car park.  The path from the top was just as difficult to find but soon we were on a grassy path that effortlessly took us along a ridge to pass under Foel-Gogh before climbing over Y-Garn.

Then we folloed another easy path until we got to Cwn Padrig.  Then came the scramble down the out crop down to the road and back to the car park.

Looking back we couldn't even make out the path we had followed!

Sunday Walk to Snowdon.

We decided to change our plans as the group had dropped to three.  We went up Snowdon in the mist.  We weren’t expecting to see any views from the top.  We stopped at the top for lunch and were bitterly cold.  As soon as we started back down the mist lifted and the views were spectacular.  After Saturdays strenuous walk we decided to walk back to Llandberris on the tourist path.
